Sara GeorgeFounder: The Electric City Brigade of Beer Betches, Event Co-Ordinator at EVvVents
It is really hard to describe who I am when I feel like I am just discovering that myself.
My husband and I met in high school and ended up marrying each other after being friends for 20 years.
We eloped in 2015 and 11 months later our daughter Elora joined us.
She was just 3 weeks old on our first wedding anniversary.
Motherhood has been both the most challenging and most rewarding role I have ever taken on and I will admit – it has not come naturally to me.
I am learning every day what it means to be parent.
I have been very open and honest about my struggles in hopes to encourage those who feel like they don’t know what they are doing.
Spoiler alert: no one knows what they are doing!
When choosing the location for my photos, I knew it had to be The Olde Stone.
My husband proposed to me here. This is where we had our first beer in Peterborough as husband and wife. My daughter’s first outing as a new little baby was here. I also used to be the Assistant Brewer. So much has happened here.
Before my daughter was born, I discovered the world of craft beer. I started going to events, meeting other beer-loving people and it has escalated from there.
More recently, I created the local group The Electric City Brigade of Beer Betches: A sisterhood of beer drinkers, dedicated to the pursuit of everything craft beer, with a focus on education and community betterment.
I have somehow managed to combine my love of beer with my love of event planning and it has been amazing. The response to this group has been wonderful and I am so grateful for all the support this community has shown me.
