Natalie's Story :
I grew up in the small Town of Renfrew as the oldest in my family with two sisters and one brother. When I graduated from High School I attended Sir Sanford Fleming for three years and graduated with Medical Secretary. During this time, I started volunteering with VON and eventually was hired by the VON. In my 25 years of service I have had several roles including Planner, Nursing Administrative Assistant and currently Executive Assistant.
In these various positions I have worked with many amazing and hardworking ladies. As a planner and nursing administrator I had to deal with frustrations and concerns from both clients and nurses that may have arisen at various times. I feel I was able to assist to resolve their issue and concerns providing them with the answers or guidance they needed to resolve their stresses.
In my current role at the VON I have dealt with many challenges in various departments and have helped to resolve numerous issues and continue to give reassurance and support to my fellow team members. I continue to appreciate the opportunity that VON has given me and hope to provide an example to others to excel in their roles all the while deriving satisfaction and appreciation of their jobs.
In my life I have raised three wonderful children who have had an interest in various sports and other activities. As they grow I feel that I have encouraged them to do their best and reach their highest goals. I have participated in all their activities and have travelled extensively to be there for them. As they have matured they have become upstanding individuals with a keen sense of learning and self-sufficiency and display the motivational and inspiration skill sets that I feel that I have taught them.
