Her Story

Cory Dooher

Owner - Dooher's Bakery, Campbellford

Cory's Story :

One of the words I chose is resilience.  As the years have gone by, day by day.. I’ve travelled life’s highways and ran into blips along the way, but they are just that.. blips.  It took those moments to rediscover myself, pick myself up, dust off and start again.

I was born and raised with my older sister and younger brother in Campbellford, where I grew up in small family neighborhood and knew everybody on our street. Growing up in a small town your neighborhood friends became family along with lots of cherished memories. I continue to live and raise my children in Campbellford and wouldn’t change it for the world. There’s just something about growing up in a small town.  I am blessed with loving and supportive parents, whom taught me to believe in myself, reach for the stars and have given me strength and perseverance to know that there is something inside of me that is greater then any obstacle.

Family and friends mean the world to me and I enjoy every moment spent with them creating and cherishing memories.  I am a single mom to 3 amazing children Jeremy, Hannah and Spencer.  I am grateful for my fiancé Ryan, who has become one of  my biggest “fans”, support and teammate in life.  In 2013, I became the 3rd generation business owner of our family business Dooher’s Bakery.  I feel blessed and honoured to be able to carry on this tradition for my grandparents that first started it in 1949 and as well for my parents. In the last 2 years we’ve won Canada’s Sweetest Bakery. This was a dream come true for our family run business.

Helping people and giving back to the community is important to me, because of the support from family, friends and surrounding communities, they all have had a huge impact on my achievements and where I am today.

One thing I’ve learned these past few years.. is everyone has a different path, different pace and different challenges to face along the way.  The purpose of life is to experience life.. and today I feel like I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be in life.
Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women who have her back!
